Stand Up. Stand Out.

Become a Colorado Student Leader

A Message from Student Advisory Board President, Mila Korah

I am a current senior at Peak to Peak Charter School. I plan to pursue economics and public policy and have a specific interest in education equity. My time at COSLI allowed me insight into all of these fields, an opportunity I am forever grateful for. I enjoy fueling my competitive spirit in speech and debate as well as various finance competitions, and pursue my philanthropic interests as an officer for my school’s National Honor Society and as co-facilitator of the 15-Forever youth board in Boulder.

As a student of COSLI I had the opportunity to spend a month learning from the best and brightest Colorado has to offer. I am speaking of not only the countless professionals we had the chance to speak with but also the brilliant students I was constantly surrounded by. COSLI values and fosters strong youth voices and taught me the power of collective initiative. When our program was set to be defunded, I saw COSLI alumni show up in spades to lobby our legislature for their reconsideration. While budget cuts ultimately overturned our efforts, COSLI students continue to fight for the program that has offered us so much. I am honored to help lead this initiative as we work to reinstate the Colorado Student Leadership Institute. While potential is universal, opportunity is not. Thus, I believe in the value COSLI brings to providing students of all backgrounds with the networking opportunities and higher education they need to thrive as global citizens.
